I Bleed Blue

That's right, I'm a college girl now.
I guess I have been for awhile, but now that Fall semester is here, it's like legit.

Switching to Helaman Halls was probably the best decision of my life. I owe it all to:
Delaney Westfall,
Hannah Ellsworth,
and This girl.

So for some reason I was super nervous about coming up again. I never get nervous. I think I was worried about it being too hard, and my roommate being weird. But guess what!??!? I was wrong. Like usual.

(Oh and just as a side note, be prepared: This will probably be a giant post)

There is a reason I have been neglecting my blog. Ummmmm my life has just been way too amazing the past week and a half. I seriously couldn't be happier.

And so it begins.
2115 Hinckley Hall.

Yeah, that's right. It's the place to be. Especially when you have the most legit roommate in the world. Her name is Rachel. Oh my. We are just little besties. She's also the most gorgeous person that ever lived.
I think it all began with my bloody nose. We barely knew each other, and here I am. Lying on the floor freaking out because there is blood all over my face. She remained calm and suggested we call my mom. When it wouldn't go away… Well… my mom suggested the good ol' Beckham trick (refer to She's the Man) and so our friendship bloomed. She had to think I was a freak before that, I was taking eleven pills a day! (Which I had an allergic reaction to and broke out in hives covering my arms and some of my legs. Yeah, that's the kind of week I had)
But now we have our inside jokes, and awkward, yet loving relationship. We even made a quote wall. Only those privileged enough can make it.
You can also click here to see the picture of me looking dead with my bloody nose.
It's a little too graphic for blogspot.

We made a Freshman Year Bucket List, and actually, we've completed a few items already.
1. Go to "Flags & Stuff"
2. Meet someone who plays the bagpipes.

3. Go to Festival of Colors.
4. Go to a concert.
5. Wear matching outfits.
6. Learn the BYU fight song.

7. Be on the Mega Screen at a football game.
8. Go to Wingers. (Rachel's never heard of it!)
9. Watch Hot Rod. (She's never seen it!)
10. Go to the BYU gym
11. Hike the Y.
12. Talk to Cosmo Cougar
13. Go to Conference in SLC
14. Paint our faces for the U of U game.
15. Go a week without being sick.
16. Go a month without locking ourselves out.
17. See someone spill a tray at the Cannon Center.
18. Make waffles.
19. Go pool hopping.
20. Pull an all-nighter.
21. Do P90X Ab Ripper workout once a week.

So as if living in the dorms wasn't fun enough, talk about pep rallies and football games! I literally almost peed my pants at the pep rally. That's how excited I was to be there.

You may have heard through the grapevine that the Cannon Center (BYU's cafeteria) is the best place on earth. Well, it is. I'm their biggest fan. They have every food imaginable, and the dessert is divine. I look forward to lunch and dinner everyday -- cause its the bomb!

Classes are actually going pretty well. Campus is largeeee. But, somehow I manage. I'm taking:
Mon, Wed, Fri:
9am - Sociology
3pm - Writing and Rhetoric (pretty interesting, loooove my instructor)

Tue, Thurs:
8am - Drawing (it's 3 hours long!)
2pm - Mission Prep (My favorite class. My professor is so awesome)
4pm - Book of Mormon (Boring… But I love the manual. So, I'm surviving)

Oh my heck. So here I sit. In my messy dorm room, my mom would be so disappointed. I miss my family. (They came and visited once, oh how I love them). They actually stay in touch pretty well so it hasn't been tooooo terribly bad. I talk to my mom on the phone at least once a day. My dad calls and leaves my the funniest voicemail. This is my favorite: "What's the difference between a BYU co-ed, and an SUU student?….. (long pause) I dunno either." Haha I love that man. My brother informed me today that he installed the "family tracker" on his cell phone, so he periodically texts me my location. What a creep. I miss his weirdness. Andie calls me from time to time. I swear, everytime we talk on the phone her voice sounds older. Its awful.

(ha. messy room. story of my life)

All in all, I LOVE MY LIFE. Besides the fact that I reeeeeeeallly miss Spencer Sardoni. He's such a gem. He really is. We do skype dates, but it's just not the same. Did I mention that He got his mission call?? Chicago, Illinois. He leaves January 12, 2011. :(

Alright. This extremely long post is at an end. I must go attempt to do some homework and clean this place up.

Live Long and Prosper.

All my love,
Alexis Mikalyn

This is a good one. I especially enjoyed the bloody nose picture. And the "maste Wayne" poster. And that you live in Heleman. And that this fall is ten ca-jillion times better than summer. maybe even trillion. And I like your roommate even though we share the same name. Rachels just must be way cool. loves.
