the evolution of hair
For some reason I never am satisfied with how my hair looks, and I'm sure it has something to do with my total lack of confidence. Over the years I have played around with everything: blonde, brown, long, short, etc. I have been back and forth more times than I can count. Let's take a look:2006 Freshman year: Blonde and longish. Pretty basic.
2007 Sophomore year: Not much had changed, I actually liked this a lot. I don't know what I was thinking when I dyed it. Anyway, long, blonde, with a few streaks. Pretty close to my natural.
2008 end of Sophomore year: I turned psycho and decided to ruin my hair! I did it Dark with some blonde mixed in. I seriously look like a completely different person. (cute braces melsa)
and then it turned ashy. Sweet.
2009 Junior year: I had just moved to a new town and for some reason I was not satisfied with that amount of change, so I decided to dye it almost black. I was suuuuper tan though, so I thought it looked decent.
And then, I just was not satisfied with looking like every other girl in my school, so I let my mom talk me into chopping like ten inches! Worst day ever.
this is before: so long so healthy
this is after: I am stupid
Yep. I was dumb. But I left the front pretty long, so I figured it would grow back fast.
Just as a side note, my hair is still short, and not by choice.
2009 End of Junior year: I was being a cheapo and got it done at a hair school. BAD IDEA. The lady seriously fried it so bad, that it still isn't the same. :( Look how much she had to cut off the front.
Pretty much I tried to work it Junior year, but it just wasn't happening. . .
2010 Senior Year: So it started getting longer which was nice. (please note that Brit's hair looks the exact same. SO jealous. Atta girl Brit for being happy with your hair.)
It actually became healthy again!
And then. . . Wait for it. I dyed it. Yeppp.
oh but that wasn't enough. I had to chop hideous bangs too. Needless to say, I wore my bangs up in a braid everyday for a month.
(pointing to how much i hate my bangs. they were baaaad.)
2010 End of Senior year: I decided to be a rebel and put a huge black chunk in my hair. Why you may ask? I have absolutely no idea.
I pretty much hate every graduation picture because of my hair.
Then I went to Europe with Goth hair. Cool.
2010 Freshman year in college: I decided the black wasn't going to fly, so I went Lady Gaga status.
It was almost white. I actually really liked it.
But
I let comments from like two people influence me to go back brown.
2011 Freshman year BYU: Brownie again. Yep.
I don't have many pictures, cause I hate it. Oh Alex. . .
So I took these yesterday before the concert on my lappytoppy. It's already turned ashyyy.
on the upside, my diet is working ish. my new jeggings weren't AS tight.
Yep. Still short. (Brit don't make fun of me taking pictures alone on my computer.)
Anyway. These are as recent as it gets. Everywhere I go these days I look at girls' hair and envy the h out of them. I just want long pretty hair. Ah. Tomorrow I'm going to buy that Mane and Tail horse shampoo. According to Kylie King it works miracles. Yeah, I'll keep you updated. We'll see how long this hair color lasts too. Cause right now I'm not loving it.
Cheers to hair dye and how it has completely ruined me! I have learned my lesson mom, I wont ever give into peer pressure ever again!
6 rants and raves:
ummm i kind of loved this post. love your black outfit in the last couple of photos (/you look tiiiiny), love the lil wayne, love the AA hoodie, love the bang-hatred-induced side braid...you get the point :)
Alex I love your hair brown!! I think its so pretty and makes your eyes stand out and look amazing!
go to walmart and buy biotin herbs. They are like 3-5 bucks for a pretty good sized bottle. take 2 a day. they will help your hair grow also! get a deep conditioner (from a salon, not walmart) and do it once a week. this too with also help! good luck!!
love this! story of my life! i always always hate my hair and when i decide i like it somehow i ruin it (bangs, blonde, chopping it all off, etc.) but somehow even though you hate your hair i've always been in love with it no matter what color you dye it. you are a hair color chameleon :)
You're beautiful with every hair color!! I have been through the same things with my hair, I think most girls go through it. Isn't that what hair is for??
I guess I'm just a boring freak!!! I love you no matter what your hair looks like
