C A L I F O R N I A
Well I'm back from my little tripster. It was loads of fun, and actually pretty cool to get to do whatever I wanted. I was accompanied by my two great friends Brittany and Rach. For posterities sake, I'm going to give you a little run down of our trip. Ready, set, go!
Day 1: Travel day. Not going to lie, I hate driving. But Brittany is a pretty good driver. Good thing we have our GPS too, or else we would be in deep trouble. However, sometimes the GPS fails us and takes us to a dead end. I had a panic attack. Like a legitimate hyperventilating -we're gonna die and be stuck in this town forever-I can't breath type thing. So. . . Brit drove the rest of the way. Actually she drove the whole time in California. Glad I have her around. We finally picked up Rach in Bakersfield. Ghettoville USA! I was so happy to see her smiling face. We had some good times jammin' to tunes and such. Brit and I were also happy to have our little counselor back.
Total hours of driving:
Brittany—13
Alex —10
Rachel—5
Wayyyyy too much.
We stayed in the South side of Corona at the Sardoni's condo there. Tom is so nice and accommodating. We also hit up a delicious Mexican restaurant, Vons (coolest grocery store ever), and Subway in Corona. What a hidden treasure. A lot of other stuff happened, but it wasn't important.
Day 2 and part of 3: DISNEYLAND and California Adventure
We somehow weaseled our way into getting $139 three day passes. Wahooooo. They were because we're "Southern California" residents. Mwahahaha. Anyway. The day was magical, eventful, hot, etc. It was great, I mean we were in the happiest place on earth. We were tired though. I don't know how little kids do it. I got a little sick on a few rides, but in the end it was worth it!
I know you guys are tired of phone pics, but it's all I got.
Day 3 Cont: Newport.
Visited the Newport temple. (which is on a toll road fyi)
Ate at the Cheesecake Factory. We even "checked in" on Facebook. Annoying, right?
Parked illegally to stick our little toes in Newport beach. Oh baby, can't beat that feeling.
Drove the wrong way on a one way.
Spotted attractive men.
Sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeept
Day 4: Simi Valley, CA
So, Rachel and I went to church with our BYU friend Kelsie. 'Twas quite enjoyable.
Hung out with Brit's grandma, who kindly bought our dinner.
She's a cute little old lady who has a really fat cat :).
Basked in the California sunshine
Day 5: ZUMA freaking Beach!
All I can say is that I wish I had grown up in California. There is just something about lying in the sand listening to the waves. Ahhh. Oh and then we got WAY sunburned. My mom said it serves me right for wearing an immodest bathing suit. I guess she is right. Lesson learned. I just wanted a tan belly people.
Day 6: Hit up the Ronald Reagan Library. It was so neat! He was an amazing man, and the relationship he and his wife had was adorable. Beach—again. Brit stayed with her family, cause she never gets to see them. I finished a book. (Matched, read it!) I was getting sad to leave this place and NOT looking forward to driving again.
Day 7: Another long drive, followed by a long nights rest.
Another road trip soon? You betcha!
(ps this post took me a week and a half to finish. Wow.)
